LATHAM, N.Y. – The New York State CU League's sponsored University of Lending recently concluded with a welcome surprise from the University's dean. Rex Johnson, the University's lead professor announced that for every person attending the University's three Chicago-area sessions in October, November and December, Lending Solutions , parent company of the University, will donate $100 to the League's Disaster Relief Fund. It will do the same for the next University of Lending scheduled in New York in March 2002. The commitment represents a potential donation of more than $20,000 to the Disaster Relief Fund, which makes grants to credit unions, staff, volunteers and members in need as a result of the terrorist attacks. "We all take comfort from the solidarity that Americans are demonstrating," said Johnson. "The University is making this commitment as another piece in the strong response by the credit union movement throughout the country and the world."
