DULUTH, Ga. – Look out CoinStar, Georgia Credit Union Affiliates and 23 statewide credit unions will now offer free coin counting services to members. cu-coin, the first credit union system free coin-counting operation in the state of Georgia, launched on October 2. Members can bring their loose coins to their participating local credit union branch and have the coins counted free of charge. Members will be invited to deposit that money into share draft accounts. Plans are also underway to use cu-coin to promote children's savings programs and help educate young people on the value and importance of saving money.
