Viisage Technology donates

LITTLETON, Mass.- To help identify or apprehend the persons responsible for terrorist acts in New York City, Washington and Pennsylvania, Viisage Technology, Inc. a biometric face-recognition/identification provider, has offered the FBI free use of its technology. “It is clear that the use of face-recognition technology can make a real difference in identifying terrorists,” said Viisage Technology President Tom Colatosti. “We are facing a national tragedy, unlike anything America has ever endured – our prayers and sympathies go out to all the families and friends of all the innocent victims. We want to give what we are able to uniquely contribute.” Viisage’s systems annually deliver more than 25 million high-security digital-identification documents for government agencies responsible for issuing drivers’ licenses, social services cards and law enforcement credentials.
