During Brownell's nine-year tenure, more than $7.7 million has been distributed; * Under her direction, the Community Investment Fund-the primary funding mechanism for local, state, national and international CU development-was launched; * Brownell was instrumental in helping make the Campus Credit Union Council a self-sufficient organization through a five-year Foundation grant; * She has represented credit unions as a member of the National Cooperative Foundation Board; * Under Brownell's leadership, the National Credit Union System became a partner with Children's Miracle network and Credit Unions for Kids; * She oversaw the disbursement of $1.4 million to families of volunteers and staff of Federal Employees Credit Union that was destroyed in the Oklahoma City terrorist bombing.
