ARLINGTON, Va. – James Forney, superintendent of credit unions for the Iowa Credit Union Division was supposed to pass on his seat as NASCUS Chairman to Jerrie Lattimore, administrator of the North Carolina Credit Union Division during NASCUS' annual conference which was originally scheduled for Sept. 15-17. In light of NASCUS' decision to postpone the conference to Dec. 14-18 because of September 11′s terrorist attack, Forney remains chairman of NASCUS until the conference convenes. NASCUS spokesperson David Morrison said the Association's bylaws stipulate that the Officers remain in place until the annual meeting in December, and that the new board members will remain until the next year's annual meeting. When Lattimore becomes chairman in December, she will have a nine-month chair, assuming NASCUS' 2002 conference is held in September as it typically is.
