DUBLIN, Ireland – Two credit unions are sharing a cup, but not a cup of stout. This cup represents excellence and is awarded each year by The Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU). Excellence is defined loosely, although it can refer to operational practices, outstanding member service to best business practices. The winners were Lough Credit Union and Rathfarnham & District Credit Union. Manager of Lough Credit Union Pat Coughlin expressed pleasure, especially since in 2000, LCU was second. The credit union was recognized for their excellent service. Rathfarnham was recognized for the work they do with schools to promote credit unions.
