MAYNARD, Mass. – Large credit unions do care about helping out smaller CUs, says Tom Ryan, senior VP/COO of the $1.4 billion Digital FCU here. "Sometimes I think there's a divide between large and small credit unions. This is an opportunity for us to give back. Quite honestly the biggest thing small credit unions struggle with is time, the research time it takes to deploy new services," said Ryan. Ryan, is chairman of the Association of Credit Union Operations Officers, an association of EasCorp. The association and its sister association, the Association of CU Chief Financial Officers, are holding free one-day workshops aimed at helping smaller CUs grow. The four workshops will cover everything from home equity lending and collections to online banking and credit/debit cards. The workshops are hosted by twelve professionals from larger CUs in New England. The event will be held on October 11 in Marlborough, Mass.
