While the Renaissance Commission attempts to justify the elimination of many qualities that make up the unique character of credit unions, CUNA President/ CEO Dan Mica sends a copy of the Commission Recommendations to each member of the Senate and House. At best the disclosure is premature and potentially damaging. As Credit Union Times' own survey appears to demonstrate, the majority of credit unions don't support these recommendations. Among my peers in Connecticut, I have found no support for the majority of the recommendations. I suggest that Mr. Mica factor in the comments he has requested from the credit union community at large prior to providing additional disclosure. Raymond F.
