PLANO, Texas and LOS GATOS, Calif. – EDS announced recently that it will offer its clients streaming technology solutions from Streaming21, which empowers users to transmit and play digital video and audio over Internet and broadband networks without having to wait until a file is downloaded. Some CUs are currently looking at adding streaming elements to their sites to make them more functional and visually appealing to members. The Streaming21 technology lets user access live, pre-recorded, or on-demand programming through a variety of wired or wireless devices, including televisions equipped with set-top boxes, laptops, handheld PDAs, desktop personal computers and Internet appliances. IDC projects that the streaming media market revenue will grow at a compound annual rate of 92% over the next four years and will exceed $5 billion by 2005.
