EECU, Fort Worth, Texas, Branch Manager Nora Gonzales has been honored at the YWCA Fifth Annual Tribute to Women in Business. This event recognizes the outstanding accomplishments and significant contributions of 50 professional women. Gonzales was presented the YWCA Women in Business Award for her dedication to members. EECU has $343 million in assets. Empire Federal Credit Union, Syracuse, N.Y., has announced that former president/CEO William B. Johnson has been inducted into the Credit Union Hall of Fame. The honor is awarded by the New York State Credit Union League to those individuals who have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the credit union movement and who have made a significant impact at the local, state or national level. Johnson has served credit unions for 37 years and was Empire FCU's first president/CEO. His career includes terms as chairman and director of the NYSCUL and director of CUNA. In addition, Johnson has played a leading role in the expansion of credit union services such as the CU24 ATM network, Shared Services Corporation and CUC Mortgage Corporation. Currently Johnson serves on the Syracuse District Credit Union Council. EFCU has $216 million in assets and serves over 42,000 members.
