I read with great interest publisher Mike Welch's column in the August 8 issue on the Credit Union Association of the West. Just yesterday I was speaking to a credit union CEO in the area and I asked him, "What do you make of this new CUAW?" His response was, "I haven't figured that one out just yet." I'm still scratching my head as well, but I can tell you this – it's symbolic of something. I'm just not sure what. Perhaps it represents the league's need for income or its desire to be recognized as a leader by its executive peers. The Washington Credit Union League has been using its wide-angle lens to focus on their mission. The picture I'm left with isn't very clear or meaningful. James L.
