KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Robert Givens has been named to succeed Nancy Pierce as CEO of Mazuma Credit Union. After 25 years of service to the credit union industry, 13 of which were spent as president of the $213 million credit union, Pierce plans to retire in September to complete her PhD in Sociology and Economics and pursue a career in researching consumer savings and consumption habits. Givens will start his position with Mazuma this month. He has been chief financial officer for Credit Union of Southern California since 1999 and has worked with credit unions since 1986, serving as CFO and CEO for credit unions throughout California and Las Vegas, Nev. Givens has also served on the board of governors for the Orange County Chapter of the California Credit Union League and as an alternate delegate to the State Credit Union Assembly.
