MADISON, Wis. – CUES announced that it has partnered with Decision Strategies International Inc. (DSI), W. Conshohoken, Pa., and Counter Intelligence Associates (CIA), San Juan Capistrano, Calif., to offer scenario-based strategic planning services to credit unions. According to CUES, the partnership gives CU execs and directors access to strategic planning products and services, including workshops, workbooks and on-site planning consultation and facilitation that use a scenario planning approach. Franck Schuurmans, senior vice president/business and development for CUES, said scenario planning involves looking at different environments that CUs may be facing down the road, such as a world with more non-financial competitors two or three years from now. Schuurmans said Paul Schoemaker, chairman and CEO of DSI, is a pioneer in scenario planning. Schoemaker works with a number of universities on the issue, including Cornell, University of California at Berkeley, The Wharton School and others.
