THORNDALE, Pa. – Citadel Federal Credit Union is helping educate low-income individuals and families about financial management and the importance of saving. The $348 million credit union has become a partner in the Family Savings Partner Program. The Family Savings Partner Program is administered by Open Hearth Inc, which promotes a network of resources to create long-term, affordable housing for residents of Chester and Montgomery County. Program participants save a minimum of $10 per week for one to two years and each dollar saved is matched by 50 cents, with a maximum match of $300 per year. Money must be saved for a specific goal, such as purchasing/renovating a home, furthering education, developing a business or even retirement.
