CANTON, Ohio – The Stark County Chapter of credit unions carried a lot of "hot air" during the Pro Football Hall of Fame Grand Parade here. About 40 credit union CEOs and employees maneuvered a 40-foot helium-filled Richie Rich balloon along the 2.2-mile parade trail. Balloon handlers wore polo shirts that prominently displayed the "America's Credit Unions" brand logo . "This is just another way that we could create credit union awareness and have fun at the same time," said Paul Snyder, marketing director for CSE Federal Credit Union in Canton. Richie Rich was one of 14 "Macy's-style" balloons in the parade, which was attended by an estimated 230,000 people and later broadcast nationally by Fox Sports Network. This is the first year the chapter has sponsored a balloon.
