Duval Federal Credit Union, Jacksonville, Fla., has purchased its first free standing branch facility/administration office. DFCU will use the 10,000 square foot building as a member service branch with drive-thru operation, as well as an administrative facility. The facility has been available for member use since July 2001. DFCU has over $35 million in assets and serves 6,700 members. Redstone Federal Credit Union, Huntsville, Ala. has broken ground on its 16th branch in the Tennessee Valley area. The new facility will be a full-service branch, providing drive-up ATMs, drive-up teller windows, and safe deposit boxes. The architecture of the branch will follow the credit union’s new plan to provide an environment for educational opportunities and help members feel at ease when conducting their financial business. Construction of the 6,200 square-foot facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. Space Coast Credit Union, Melbourne, Fla., has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its latest branch. KDA Financial has been retained as the project developer. Construction of the new branch is underway and is targeted to open in mid-fall. The Baytree branch will be equipped with 5,080 square-feet of space, one drive-up full service ATM, five drive-thru lanes, six teller stations, night depository, and safe deposit boxes. SCCU has $750 million in assets and serves over 120,000 employees.
