SAN DIEGO, Calif. – USA Federal Credit Union has become the first credit union to establish shared branching financial services outside of the United States. USA FCU can count branch locations in Japan, Korea and Guam as part of the CU Service Centers Network. "There are lots of troops stationed short-term in Japan, Korea and Guam and we saw a need for them to have access to credit union services," said USA FCU Vice President of Operations Janet Walters. "We were concerned for their quality of life and this need was easy to facilitate since we do our own processing." Effective August 1, the USA CU Guam, Japan and Korea CU Service Centers locations will offer cash only services in U.S. currency, along with deposits and loan payment transactions.
