WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Credit Union Times' 2001 eAwards competition produced a bounty of innovative credit union Web sites to be considered. In this third edition of the eAwards, the CU Web sites have clearly become more functional, faster-loading, and diverse. While it was once unique for a CU site to offer online banking, bill payment, online lending, online brokerage, and other interactive features, these functions are now common. New Web site features discovered this year included account aggregation, e-statements, Web chat member service, and wireless banking. The 2001 eAwards marks a departure from the prior two editions. There will be no break-down among asset sizes as the quality gap between small and big CUs has narrowed considerably. This year the eAwards simply go to the best sites found by Credit Union Times among all asset sizes.
