MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group is keeping convenience and innovation in the forefront of its offerings. As part of its initiative this year to make its products more accessible to clients, CUNA Mutual has further fine-tuned its Credit Union Insurance Review. Currently offered online at CUNA Mutual's Web site, the Credit Union Insurance Review provides credit unions an online look at their corporate property and casualty coverage. This secured site shows the credit union's coverage, limits, deductible and premium information. Now, in the latest version, credit unions have the ability to make changes online or they can download a pdf file and send in the changes. "It was important for us to provide options," said Birgitta Meylor, CUNA Mutual Group corporate lines marketing and planning manager. "We didn't want to eliminate personal contact, but for those who want to quickly change information they now can just go in and complete those forms electronically." CUNA Mutual is still working on its e-signature capability, so not all forms are available online. So far the location change form, foreclosure coverage application, builders risk application and business auto coverages can be adjusted online. The site is popular among credit unions. Although CMG recommends credit unions review their coverages at least annually, today's CUs are taking more frequent looks for reasons ranging from opening a new branch, to offering new services. According to Meylor, there are even more improvements to be released before year-end. "We have slated for 3rd quarter in September, the ability to do the renewal survey online and sometime this year the e-commerce risk assessment will be up and running so that credit unions can go through the steps of what they are doing online and get rankings/ recommendations," said Meylor. Another tool under development at CUNA Mutual is a set of calculators to help a credit union assess its current insured value and determine what value is needed. [email protected]
