AUSTIN, Texas – Credit unions in the Lonestar State continue to reach out to broaden their field-of-membership. Among the most recent applications received by the Credit Union Division: * Fort Worth Community Credit Union (formerly known as Fort Worth FCU), has applied to serve all of Tarrant County, one of the largest counties in the state. * West Texas CU in El Paso has applied to serve people within a 15-mile radius of the city. Since El Paso is a border city, the CU's application stipulates the FOM would exclude the Country of Mexico and the state of New Mexico. The Credit Union Division expects to make its decision on the applications in August.
