DALLAS – Credit Union of Texas, formerly Dallas Teachers CU, is receiving some big time ink in the likes of Forbes magazine and Business Week. The CU was highlighted in a Forbes story that focused on large companies utilizing data warehousing. Business Week covered the CU in a story on the capabilities of data mining. The Credit Union of Texas' data mining capabilities are well-known in the industry. The CU utilizes data mining to do sophisticated profitability analyses, which were featured in a Credit Union Times story in late 1999. "Our data warehousing abilities have taken our business to the next level. We have the ability to look at our members as individuals rather than as a part of a specific demographic group," said Ken Sorrels, President/CEO of the credit union. Credit Union of Texas serves 145,000 members and has $800 million in assets.
