SAINT LOUIS – Biometric Digest newsletter has introduced its Biometric Information Directory (BID). The directory lists more than 330 biometric vendors, integrators, consultants, trade associations, publications and more. It also contains a list of more than 40 publicly held companies offering a range of biometric products and services. Over 35 conferences and trade shows that include biometrics as part of their program are also included. Biometric technology identifies individuals based on their fingerprint, iris recognition, facial scan, voice, signature and other personal characteristics. There is a CD version that includes Power Point slide presentations on Biometric Products and Services from vendors. The initial release includes three Power Point programs covering biometric conferences from the Advanced Learning Institute; a 25-screen overview presentation on biometric technology and the features and costs of using the directory for marketing of vendor products.
