RALEIGH, N.C. – GE Mortgage Insurance, a unit of GE Capital Mortgage Corp., a subsidiary of GE Capital is touting that its new “Homebuyer PrivilegesT” provides qualified borrowers through participating lenders with access to savings that could total $750 to $1,500 on home-related products and services provided by GE businesses and business partners. GE Mortgage Insurance has been running Homebuyer PrivilegesT as a pilot since late 2000, focusing on major national accounts with strong retail orientation and e-business capabilities. Some of the vendors currently participating in the program are The Home Depot, DISH network, Penske Truck Rental and Penske Auto Centers, Electric Insurance Company, GE Residential Long Distance and GE Prepaid Phone Cards. GE Mortgage says other vendors are under consideration. A link on a participating lender’s Web site connects borrowers to the company’s Homebuyer PrivilegesT Web site, where the vendors are listed. Users can then link directly to any available offer they’re interested in. They don’t have to buy mortgage insurance to be eligible for the offers, which are fulfilled by participating vendors via their Web site.
