ST. LOUIS – Talk about hands on. Attendees at CU Conference's recent CU Technology Summit in Las Vegas received their very own "tech tours" by visiting the facilities of two Las Vegas-area credit unions. CU Conferences and William Rogers & Associates sponsored the program. Twenty-four attendees visited the retail branch office of Ensign Federal Credit Union designed by facilities firm NewGround Inc. The tour included the teller and member services areas, self-service PCs with Internet access, a kids area with PC availability and drive-up facilities. A second group of 49 credit union officials visited Community One Federal Credit Union to see an overview of their in-house Symitar System core processing solution. Credit union staff demonstrated loan processing capabilities, teller processing support and participated in group discussions on technology services for members. "We developed the concept to assist vendors in getting more exposure during conferences. We were overwhelmed at the response of our first effort with about 75 credit unions participating. While vendors spend a considerable amount of time and money to get credit unions to view their products and services, we did it for them as part of the conference program," said conference moderator Bill Rogers.
