ALEXANDRIA, Va.- NCUA is seeking comments for its five-year strategic plan for 2003 through 2008 from the public and the credit union community. Acting NCUA Board Chairman Dennis Dollar encouraged everyone to participate. Aside from gathering comments from credit unions and the general public, the agency is also requesting suggestions from within the agency staff. Rather than waiting for credit unions to come to them with their suggestions, NCUA staff will be reaching out directly to credit unions across the country, as well as trade associations, vendors and state and federal regulators for their observations. Dollar commented that it’s important to gather input from external sources because the agency can better plan when it has a better understanding of its stakeholders. The agency received numerous comments from the credit union movement in planning its last strategic goals, which aided the formulation of the final product.
