BOSTON – Lexington Insurance Company, an excess and surplus carrier, has introduced a new insurance product, Violence Guard that combines crisis response services with protection in the event of a violent act. “The United States Department of Justice has estimated that there are two million violent workplace incidents annually. With violence a very real and growing concern for employers, it’s critical that businesses take steps to prevent and prepare for such incidents,” said Kevin Kelley, Chief Executive Officer, Lexington Insurance Company. Designed to help address coverage gaps that may exist in traditional General Liability and Employer Liability programs, coverage applies regardless of incident location and whether the perpetrator or victim is an employee. Violence Guard provides coverage for loss of revenues, employee death benefits, and liability protection against third-party losses. Crisis response coverage provides for security, public relations, law enforcement liaison, psychiatric counseling, and miscellaneous expenses following an act of violence. Value added services provided at no cost include a review of corporate policies dealing with issues of violence, security site reviews and seminars aimed at violence prevention. In addition, an optional security audit can be arranged as part of a risk management plan.
