Members of the $2.2 billion Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif., are now being offered remote deposit checking.
RCU said it is using Mitek software to add mobile RDC to its mobile banking apps for Android and Apple devices.
The California credit union said the RDC offering is the latest in a series of free digital banking enhancements, which now include online budgeting tools, bill pay, Quicken/QuickBooks downloads, online loan applications and e-statements.
“RCU is committed to the environment and actively encourages the use of online services to help reduce paper-based transactions and conserve fuel emissions by minimizing the need for branch visits,” the 18-branch credit union said in its announcement.
