The $192 million Southern Mass Credit Union in Fairhaven, Mass., recently wrapped up its sixth annual U.S. Armed Forces Collection Drive. The boxes of much-needed items such as toiletries, candy and sup were presented to the Massachusetts National Guard at its office in Taunton, Mass., and then shipped overseas.

Participating this year were several businesses, East Fairhaven Elementary School, Hastings Middle School and the Fairhaven Council on Aging.

Bethany Pinard, family assistance center specialist with the Army National Guard said, “I want to express my sincere appreciation to Southern Mass Credit Union and all of the community members who contributed items in support of our Armed Forces. Your generosity will directly benefit the soldiers of the 972nd Military Police who are currently deployed to Afghanistan.”
