Ongoing Operations LLC of Hagerstown, Md., will be hosting the Check 21 platform for Los Angeles-based CheckAlt Payment Solutions, the companies announced.

Ongoing Operations said it now provides cloud-based hosting and disaster recovery and business continuity services to more than 500 customers. CheckAlt said it provides remote deposit checking and other imaging services to more than 50 customers at more than 2,500 locations.

“Anytime we can help a credit union vendor provide services more efficiently, new value is created for the entire industry,” said Kirk Drake, CEO of the Ongoing Operations CUSO. 

“Check 21 has allowed financial institutions to become more efficient. Our solutions take that efficiency to the next level with convenience for consumers and reduced risk for credit unions.” said Shai Stern, co-chairman of CheckAlt.

Earlier this year, Ongoing Operations bought Cloudworks, a Thousand Oaks, Calif., provider of cloud-based hosting solutions. The 6-year-old firm has been expanding beyond hosting credit union disaster recovery services, including adding hosting operations for firms like P2P specialist Dwolla.
